Embark Exeter specialises in canine-assisted therapy. Sessions are where you lead, supported by me, my dog Ted and my nurturing environment. As you open up, you’ll feel motivated by the affection harnessed, providing an experience that’s deeply connective, natural and stimulating. As your mood improves, you’ll feel relaxed, at ease and supported, ready to talk in your own time and in your own words about what’s on your mind, what’s holding you back and what needs to change.
Your session is where you’re able to concentrate on you, fully, with the help of my focus-inducing activities, communication and support. With guidance, you’ll overcome obstacles, recognise alternate patterns and find the ability to connect with yourself in new, positive ways. Through sensitive management and dedication, you’ll gain the time and space you need to reveal new insight, gaining personal strategies to help with immediate goal-setting.
I will employ various strategies and techniques in my work with you to overcome obstacles and personal challenges, improve your mood, your communication, relationships, and promote self-esteem and resilience. However, the most powerful amongst these is that I will actively listen to what you are saying, and also what goes unsaid!
I offer person-centred therapy, whereby I am non-judgemental (often referred to as unconditional personal regard), honest and empathetic. These are the roots from which natural healing and personal growth can begin and continue to flourish.
My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, honesty and acceptance, combined with a curious mind.
I strive to create an informal, safe and supportive environment where my clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and feelings, and where they can develop the skills and tools they need to thrive.
This can be in-person or online.
Confidentiality is paramount to me, establishing a foundation of trust in me and my clients that enhances the sense of confidence input by my dog. I maintain strict privacy standards, safeguarding client information to create a safe space where clients can openly explore their thoughts and emotions, consider their circumstances honestly and be treated with the utmost respect and privacy.
Through my work, I aim to show how the bond between an individual and a dog can create unparalleled joy. I use this enriching relationship to provide you with a route to healing, allowing you to experience the benefits of spending time with a dog of Ted’s calibre. The love and trust that occur from such an encounter is what propels my therapy, stimulating an approach that’s centred on trust, organic experience and resilience.
When I talk with you, I provide insight, comprehension and strategies to help move you forward. My aim is progression and healing. I operate a reliable in-person and online service in order to present you with a range of solutions so that you can focus on you in a way that’s right for you. Tell me about your current situation by contacting me directly, after which I will respond with informative advice to assist you with using my canine-assisted therapy service at my rooms in the centre of Exeter.
